Prof. Dr. Şahin Karasar
Şahin Karasar was born in Ankara in 1965. Having studied primary school, secondary school and high school in Ankara, he completed his undergraduate degree in the only faculty on communication at the time in Anadolu University, Eskişehir. After B.A. studies, he was awarded to scholarship for M.A. studies abroad and went to USA to study TV Broadcast Management M.A. Program at Marquette University, Milwaukee. Then, he came back to Turkey and started working as Research Assistant at Anadolu University. He earned his PhD from the Institute of Communication Sciences at Anadolu University in 1999. After his PhD studies, he started his academic career at Gazi University.
He took administrative roles as the Head of Faculty of Communication, the Vice Dean and the University Vice President at Eastern Mediterranean University between 2001-2004. He managed the establishment process of TV studios at Eastern Mediterranean University. Between 2004-2005, he worked as the Head of Radio, TV and Cinema Department, Faculty of Communication at Krygyzstan - Turkey Manas University, and established TV studios.
In 2005, Karasar came into office as Vice Dean of Faculty of Communication at Maltepe University. He run his administrative duties as Vice Dean between 2007-2010 and Vice President between 2008-2010. He became the Head of THY Training Division and the Head of THY Academy in 2010. Having served 3 years in this position, he has been assigned to Maltepe University as President in 2013 and still serves his office.
